Started in
2008 by 13 (now 15) year old Alika Salazar. Alika wanted an iPhone.
His parents told him he would have to earn the money himself to buy it.
Alika started going to area stores (i.e.-Costco, Walmart) and buying
candy bars. He would turn around and take them to school and sell them
for a dollar. When he had enough money he purchased his first iPhone on Ebay. The day he received the iPhone it overheated and broke! He and his
dad opened the phone up and started looking at all of the components.
Being from a family with an electronics background, Alika didn't let the
fact that this iPhone was broken deter him from getting one. He
continued to sell candy and started purchasing broken iPhones in the
hopes that he could piece together one working iPhone. Well he finally
did it! In the process of doing this he learned how to remove, test, and
replace parts for the iPhone. Alika's dad now wanted one and
commissioned Alika to get another working iPhone for him. During this
process Alika went online and retained suppliers for parts.
When he had built up his dads' iPhone, Alika expressed interest in
starting a business and having a website and doing repairs for the
iPhone. Alika's dad had started learning about SEO, online marketing,
and building websites in 2006. A partnership was formed between Alika
and his dad and after settling on the name iPhoneReplacementParts.com for their website, his dad went to work building the website and
marketing their business. Right away there were phone calls and people
requesting an address to send their iPhones in for repair. They decided
to list the address on the website. Soon after, the Sacramento market
started calling. They wanted to come over for a repair, they didn't want
to send it in. So they agreed to start taking customers by appointment
out of their home. There were people there until 10-11pm getting their
iPhones repaired! It was clear that they needed an office. They set out
looking for a space and found one! Now a family business they decided on the name "iParts and
Phone Repairs" for their first local store, which was the first iPhone Repair store in Sacramento! We were the first and we strive to be the best. Today iParts Repair receives repairs from all over the world and has grown into repairing iPhones, iPods, iPads, iPod Touch's and MORE!
